His knowledge in this sector is second to none and 50% of his client portfolio comprises members of the farming community. His other specialist sector area is health care professionals and he looks after nearly all the practice’s GP clients providing them with a full range of accountancy services. Michael is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales Specialist Interest Groups for Agriculture and Medical Healthcare. He also works for clients from a range of other sectors.
What his friends would say about him: A family man, who, outside of work, eats, sleeps and breathes Whitehaven Rugby League Football Club which, as a Director, he claims is the best semi professional club in the country. He plays golf badly and loves socialising.

Key areas of expertise: Peter works with corporate clients, professional services and small businesses. He thrives on driving businesses forward to reach their full potential, no matter the size or type. He excels at a range of services including business plans for new businesses but is equally comfortable with the incorporation of a business or the audit of a large corporate. As one of the two qualified Audit Partners in the practice Peter oversees all audits and ensures compliance.

Job title: Accountancy and Audit Partner
Key areas of expertise: Jason advises an extensive portfolio of clients, assisting with all their accountancy, audit, business taxation and advisory needs. He specialises in the corporate sector and has a wealth of experience in dealing with contractor companies and other family run businesses. He has considerable know-how in resolving start up issues and particularly enjoys helping new businesses to develop and grow. Jason deals with all entities which require an audit or independent examination and has comprehensive knowledge and experience in advising charities, clubs and other not for profit organisations, particularly in the education sector.
What his friends would say about him: Jason is sport mad, having been 1st XV scrum-half at Aspatria RUFC for fifteen seasons, a former Cumbrian player of the year and more recently Honorary Treasurer for the County Management Committee. In the summer Jason runs a "West Cumbrian Accountants" cricket team which is "purely social" and plays golf badly. He loves spending time with his growing family and having fun with friends.

Job title: Tax Partner
Key Area of Expertise: Brett qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Australia with Ernst & Young, before qualifying as Chartered Tax Adviser when he moved to the UK with his wife Ruth. As Tax Partner, Brett oversees the firm's tax function while also advising on a portfolio of clients where he specialises in dealing with corporates, owner managed businesses and contractor companies. Brett has extensive experience in business start-ups, often providing a unique tax angle on set up. In addition, Brett is the firm's Research and Development specialist who assists companies making advances in science and technology to secure tax advantages through the government's lucrative reliefs.
What his friends say about him: Brett is a loyal friend who acts with Integrity in both his personal and business relationships. He has a strong work ethic and always puts others first (unless cake is involved!). It is clear to everyone who knows him that Brett has a strong love for his family and values his friends.Brett has a passion for CrossFit, he not only trains and competes, but is also a highly respected coach and judge.
