Dealing with the aftermath
Like everyone else in the county, all of us at robinson+co watched with horror as the scale of last week’s floods became apparent. Several of our clients with homes and businesses in Cockermouth, Keswick and Workington have been directly affected and, of course, many others will be affected indirectly now, and in the months to come.
Hopefully, the vast majority of those who suffer losses will have adequate insurance cover and, if they have not already done so, they should contact their insurers as soon as possible. Many business policies also cover consequential loss of profits and our partners and staff are well equipped to prepare claims on behalf of clients in due course. The focus this week of course must be on helping those who have been forced from their homes and the Furness Building Society is working together with Cumbria Community Foundation to accept donations to a relief fund which has been set up to help those who have lost so much. Donations can be made through our Furness Building Society agency and our reception staff in the Workington office will be happy to help anyone wishing to donate.
