National Living Wage
It is the time of year again where we await the government’s announcement on the new rates of the National Minimum Wage which will take effect from 1 October 2016.
However, for the first time 1 April is also a relevant date as this is the date on which the “National Living Wage” occurs.
Effectively this is an increase to the National Minimum Wage of 50p per hour for employees aged 25 and over.
This means that any of your employees who are aged 25 or over should be paid a minimum of £7.20 per hour from 1 April 2016.
Where robinson+co deal with your Payroll, we will ensure you comply with the new rules as a matter of course, but it is important that you are aware of the consequences this may have on your business’ cash flow.
Our article of 4 August refers – see here.
