Requesting SA302’s for your mortgage application

We are experiencing more and more clients asking us to request a form “SA302” from H M Revenue and Customs to enable them to proceed with a mortgage application.

This ought to be a simple process but there are a couple of difficulties:

-You may get told we can get this online but unfortunately it isn’t the case. You can only access them online if you do your tax return via the HMRC software whereas we use a more sophisticated third party software.

-Some Mortgage Advisors are wanting “original” copies from HMRC, which can take up to 2 weeks to get to you - rather than a faxed copy, which arrives within 12 hours, but which has your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) crossed out due to data protection!

-Also, please note, that if your Mortgage Advisor requires your SA302 for 2014/2015, we cannot do this if we haven’t done your tax return! Therefore, please ensure you have sent in the tax questionnaire we sent you earlier this year.

We at robinson+co know how important this information is to our clients and we do our upmost to do this in a timely manner. However, to do this in good time for your mortgage application, please ask us for the information as soon as possible - as we mentioned above it can take up to 2 weeks for you to receive them from H M Revenue and Customs.

Please contact any member of our Tax Team on 01900 603623 if you have any queries or would like to request your SA302’s.
