IHT & Will Making Seminar
robinson+co host Inheritance Tax Planning & Will Making seminar at Hunday Manor
Is making a will something you always intended to do but never actually got around to? Or maybe you have a will but it’s well and truly out of date? And then there’s the mystery surrounding Inheritance Tax. How exactly is it calculated and is there anything you can do to minimise it?
The thought of planning for the future is a daunting prospect and something we very often put to the back of our minds. But a lack of planning on our part now could cause problems for our nearest and dearest later. It is essential to think about these things while we can and, crucially, while we have the ability to make our own choices.
With this in mind, robinson+co organised a special presentation focusing on ‘Will Writing and Inheritance Tax Planning’ on May 14 2009 at Hunday Manor in Workington.
The presentation was in 3 parts:
Gareth Mendus, of Oglethorpe & Broatch solicitors, explained why you should have an up-to-date Will.
Victoria Bishop, robinson+co’s Taxation Specialist Partner explained the use of Inheritance Tax reliefs.
David Hopkinson, robinson+co’s Financial Services Partner explained how you can reduce your Inheritance Tax liability by investing in particular ways.
Roger Troughton, managing partner at robinson+co said: “The seminar aimed to assist in understanding the often complex areas of Inheritance Tax Planning & Will Making in an easy to understand format. Due to the positive feedback so far received we consider we have achieved this and intend to hold similar events on a regular basis ”.
If you were unable to attend the seminar and would like to know how Inheritance Tax Planning or Will Making can help you, or if you attended and would like further information, please contact our Practice Manager, Helen Irving.
