Retirement after half a century!
Our senior partner, John OíHare, retired from the practice on 30 September after an incredible 50 years with the firm.
John started work with the firm straight from school in September 1962 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1969. He was appointed a partner in 1971 and has been based at our Whitehaven office for most of his career. He has been our senior partner since 2005.
John has always been a popular and highly respected figure within robinson+co, and the wider business community, and his contribution and dedication to the firm has been second to none. He will, we know, be greatly missed by clients and colleagues alike.
We are sure you will join all of us in wishing John, and his wife Barbara, a long and happy retirement.
Following Johnís retirement, Jason Spires will join Michael Wood as partner at Whitehaven and John has been introducing clients to Jason as the opportunity has arisen. David Plaskett, based at our Workington office, has taken on the role of senior partner.
To mark Johnís half century, partners and staff recently enjoyed a lunch together followed by an afternoon of ten pin bowling! The partners presented John with the traditional watch (suitably engraved) while the staff gave him a quite splendid picnic hamper complete with china, cutlery, glassware and some bottles of his favourite wine.
