Record Livestock Prices at Carlisle
It is not often that livestock prices at Carlisle hit the headlines, but the Agricultural Team at robinson+co were interested to note that this has indeed been happening over the last weeks.
Prices of 126,000 guineas for Limousin bull Dolcorsllwyn Fabio and 2,000 guineas for a Lleyn in-lamb ewe ensured that the Spring Show at Harrison and Hetherington was full of excitement.
“Whilst the prices obtained indicate that some farmers are doing very well,” says robinson+co’s Michael Wood, head of the Agricultural Team, “it would be wrong to paint a rosy future of farming.”
He continues to say that farming remains perilous. “We at robinson+co can not only help you by taking over the tax administration roles such as PAYE and VAT, but by quick accurate completion of annual and /or management accounts, we can also help you track your costs and make sure you are as financially efficient as possible.”
On this point Tax Partner Victoria Bishop, an expert in Agricultural tax matters, reminds everyone of the change to capital allowances happening in April 2012. “Please contact me to discuss how we can obtain maximum tax advantage from any purchases of machinery that you are considering” she says.
